WELCOME TO THE GRANARY
Our family renovation project was completed in December 2020, and has transformed our once-derelict granary into a beautiful luxury family retreat. We wanted to create something that our own family could use into the future - a decision that heavily influenced the planning and design. We’ve combined modern interiors with a warm, rustic feel, providing a perfect location for friends, family and guests. Although situated next to our farmhouse, The Granary is completely independent, with its own fenced garden, parking and private entrance.
The farm here at Lower Lulham has been in the family for three generations. It has seen a number of different enterprises over the years, from growing brussels sprouts and runner beans to the cider apple orchards and blackcurrant fields that are here today. We are proud suppliers of apples to Bulmers and blackcurrants to Ribena. Our business, Certainly Wood, is the largest kiln-dried firewood producer in the UK and is run and managed from the farm. You won’t find any sheep or cows here, just horses - our latest venture is a racehorse business.

The main living area is open plan, with beautiful oak beams and brickwork, a warming log burner and a large Smart TV. This leads through to a handmade, contemporary kitchen and dining area, which is well-equipped with modern appliances. Start your day with a Nespresso coffee or ice your evening gin from the American fridge-freezer. Large bi-fold doors offer a panoramic view of the garden, lake and surrounding paddocks. Separate WC and laundry rooms are tucked away by the front door entrance. Oak floorboarding and underfloor heating run throughout.

There are two bedrooms and one bathroom, sleeping up to 4 people. The master bedroom boasts a super-king size bed and retains the original feature of the Granary steps. The second bedroom has twin single beds, which can be zip-and-linked to make one super-king. The bathroom is a wet room, with a beautiful free-standing bath, rainfall shower and underfloor heating.

OUTSIDE
The Granary has it’s own open-sided garage for parking and an electric car charging port. There is plenty of space for two cars, bikes, kayaks - the lot!
The kitchen bi-fold doors open fully onto the patio, with outdoor garden furniture and BBQ or firepit. The garden is fully fenced with beautiful estate railings - we wanted to provide uninterrupted views across to our lake and horse paddocks beyond. Kingfishers, wild ducks, geese, swans and even otters may pay a visit, so there are binoculars ready for your use. In the corner of the garden is a gate leading through the arboretum to the farm, which is there to be explored.
